Comprehensive Optometry

Dr. Claudia Montana-Collins began her professional education at the University of La Salle in Columbia where she obtained her optometry degree in 1987. She continued her education working in private practice and hospital settings for several years.

Wishing to further her professional career, Dr. Montana-Collins enrolled at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she obtained certification as a Master of Science in Clinical Optometry in 1995.

In 1999 Dr. Montana-Collins became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In the intervening years she continued her work and research in the contact lens industry with Wesley Jensen, Inc., an international developer of specialty soft contact lenses.

Dr. Montana-Collins worked for the Center for International Studies as she earned her Optometry degree. She also developed programs for international eye care doctors to use in their respective countries.

In 2002 she completed the US requirements for certification and earned her Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She also received a Low Vision Internship diploma for Clinical Excellence from this acclaimed educational institution.

Dr. Montana-Collins has over 20 years of experience working with patients needing a wide range of procedures. From patients needing simple vision correction, to diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, she has an extensive depth of knowledge to draw from.

For her patients needing LASIK, cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange, she enjoys a strong working relationship with her ophthalmology colleagues. Her compassionate nature and ability to solve her patient’s vision problems has earned her high acclaim from both her patients and her colleagues. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
